Core Scientific to quit bitcoin mining by year-end as colocation hits $215 million
Core Scientific (CORZ) will complete its exit from bitcoin mining in the fourth quarter, becoming a pure-play AI colocation landlord by 2027. Self-mining revenue has already fallen to $12.3 million, while colocation revenue reached $215 million. The move removes a major public miner from BTC production and signals that AI hosting economics now outcompete mining for large-scale infrastructure operators.
