Binance Turns Up in India’s $500 Million-Plus Crypto Probe as a Route for Foreign Payouts
India's foreign-exchange enforcement agency said it searched four premises in Bengaluru and Madhya Pradesh on Oct. 27 as part of a probe into more than ₹5,000 crore in crypto transfers it alleges crossed India's borders without authorization. Binance is named as a route used for foreign payouts in the case. The action signals continued regulatory pressure on offshore exchanges serving Indian users, a headline risk for Binance-linked tokens and for crypto volumes in one of Asia's largest retail markets.
