Epileptic Cult (πŸŸ₯🟩): the emoji-ticker Solana meme coin its community took back

Short answer

Epileptic is a Solana meme coin whose ticker is two emoji squares, πŸŸ₯🟩. It launched on pump.fun on 18 November 2024, lost its first leadership within two months, and was taken back by its holders in a community takeover completed on 8 February 2025. Today it has 16,796 holders, no team treasury and nothing that pays out.

Updated

Epileptic is one of the oddest survivors in the Solana meme-coin market. Its ticker is not letters at all but two coloured squares, πŸŸ₯🟩, and its full on-chain name is six of them: πŸŸ₯πŸŸͺ🟦🟩🟨🟧. The holders call themselves the Epileptic Cult. This page covers what the token is, how to check it yourself and the part that makes it worth writing about: twice in its first three months the people at the top walked away, and the holders kept it going.

If you only need the basics of the format first, start with what an emoji ticker token is.

What is the Epileptic token?

The Epileptic token is a fungible SPL token on Solana with no utility beyond its community: no staking, no revenue share, no roadmap that pays anyone. That is normal for a meme coin and it is worth saying plainly, because "community token" is often used as a polite word for "nothing behind it". Here the community is the thing behind it. There is nothing else.

The "Npump" at the end of the address is not decoration. pump.fun issues addresses that end that way, so it is a quick sign the token began on pump.fun.

Why does an emoji ticker matter?

Almost every token on every chain has a ticker made of capital letters. πŸŸ₯🟩 was launched with two emoji in the ticker field and six in the name field, and the community's claim is that it was the first meme coin to do both. We know of no earlier one, but nobody can prove a negative across every chain, so treat "first" as the community's claim rather than a measured fact.

What can be measured is what the format does in practice. You can find the token in Phantom or on DEX Screener by pasting the two squares into the search field. You also find every copy of it: an emoji ticker is easier to imitate than a name, because there is no spelling to get wrong. The contract address is the only identifier that cannot be faked. The emoji ticker guide covers how search, wallets and copycats deal with it.

How did the Epileptic community take the project back?

The short version: a community formed around the token on its first day, gave it its name and organised a CTO, a community takeover, because the person who launched it on pump.fun had no further role. Within two months that CTO's own leader went quiet, and the holders had to take the project over a second time, from the people who had taken it over the first time.

  1. 18 November 2024: launch. The token goes live on pump.fun at a market cap of about $32K. A CTO forms the same day around a newly registered X account. The name Epileptic comes from the community.
  2. 30 November 2024: the Azerbaijani holders. Elshad Rael, a crypto figure from Azerbaijan, joins the core CTO team after inviting more than 400 people into the token. Over the following weeks his videos explaining what a CTO is bring in more than 1,000 new holders.
  3. December 2024: the holders pay for the marketing. Promotions are funded by holders, not by a treasury: $400 for the New York Times Square screen on 23 December, $5,000 for a Davincij15 thread on 26 December, $4,000 for a post on 30 December, and about $5,000 sent to a campaign on 31 December whose details were never shared. Roughly $14,400 was spent that month, almost all of it from Azerbaijani holders.
  4. 4 January 2025: the leader disappears. The CTO leader announces a real-life emergency and goes passive for almost a month, still holding the only credentials to the main X account. Holders sell, and other CTO members start promoting other tokens.
  5. 24 to 26 January: ultimatum and bans. The community gives the leader three days to return or hand over the accounts. He reappears and bans the people asking, beginning with the one who issued the ultimatum.
  6. 29 January: the takeover claim. The holders file a Community Takeover on DEX Screener at 22:33 (GMT+4) and publish the full case on Medium.
  7. 30 January: reversed. DEX Screener hands the profile back to the former CTO the next day.
  8. 8 February 2025: the day of victory. DEX Screener gives the profile to the community, with new links to @Epileptic_CULT on X and Telegram. Elshad Rael takes the lead.

Every step above is dated and sourced on the Cult-Story timeline, which embeds the original posts. The holders' account of the marketing wallet, that the 31 December payment was traded rather than spent on marketing, is published there with a link to the wallet on Solscan, so anyone can read the transactions and judge for themselves.

Why this matters to a buyer. The token's contract never failed. Authorities were revoked and the liquidity was locked by burning from the start, so nobody could pull the pool. What failed was a person: whoever holds the social accounts and the marketing wallet holds the project's voice and its money. That is the risk a CTO carries, and it is the part most checklists leave out.

What happened after the takeover?

The new leadership treated the token as a movement rather than a product. On 15 March 2025 the community announced a mission and called it a "movement token". On 18 March BIG.AZ, a large Azerbaijani news site, covered the project, its first coverage from outside crypto. On 23 March the community publicly backed SPX6900, another meme-coin movement, instead of competing with it. In August 2025 it announced a sunglasses NFT collection with holding the token as the condition for the white-list.

The members' wall is the Cult Board: X accounts that put πŸŸ₯🟩 in their display name, checked automatically, in the order they joined. It is the same proof of membership the raiding team adopted in February 2025.

Is the Epileptic token safe to hold?

No meme coin is safe, and a page on the project's own site is the last place you should take reassurance from. What we can do is show the checks and their results, so you can repeat them. The full method is in how to check a Solana token for a rug pull.

CheckπŸŸ₯🟩 resultWhat it means
Mint authorityRevoked (null)No one can create new tokens and dilute holders.
Freeze authorityRevoked (null)No one can freeze a wallet and stop it selling.

Top 10 wallets12.8% of supplyExcluding the pool's own vault and the burn address.

Treasury, team allocationNoneNothing funds development. Holders pay for everything.

Authorities from the mint account and LP burn from Raydium's pool API, read on 27 October 2026. Concentration and liquidity are live.

The risks that remain are the ordinary ones, and they are large: low liquidity, a price that depends entirely on attention, and leadership that depends on a few volunteers. In its first week the project's own timeline counts the market cap in millions; today it is $307K. Surviving is not the same as recovering, as the guide on whether rug pulls ever recover explains.

Is Epileptic a community token or a cult token?

Both phrases get used for it, and the difference is mostly tone. "Community token" describes how it is run: by holders, with no company behind it. "Cult" is the name the holders chose for themselves, in the sense the meme-coin market uses the word: a group with a shared identity, its own symbols and a habit of showing up. Nobody is asked to buy anything to be part of it, and the site that carries its name pays no token rewards.

Epileptic.NEWS, the site you are reading, is part of the same project. It classifies crypto news by sentiment and shows the market's direction on Cryptopulse. The token's live chart, trades and full holder list are on the token screen.

Questions people ask

What is the Epileptic coin's contract address?

The mint address is HwPtbFpd3VTe3tfyosoVtPf9WPuSk5gAKkN5xp6Npump on Solana. Search by this address rather than by the πŸŸ₯🟩 ticker, because anyone can create a token with the same two emoji.

Is Epileptic a rug pull?

The contract cannot be used to rug it: mint and freeze authority are revoked and 99.99% of the pool's LP tokens are burned, so nobody can print tokens, freeze wallets or pull the liquidity. What happened in January 2025 was a different failure, a leader who stopped leading, and the holders answered it with a community takeover.

Who runs the Epileptic token now?

Nobody owns it. Since 8 February 2025 the DEX Screener profile, the @Epileptic_CULT X account and the Telegram group are held by the community that took the project back, led by Elshad Rael. There is no company, no treasury and no team allocation.

Why is it called Epileptic?

The name came from the community, not from the launch. The ticker is a red and a green square, the colours of a falling and a rising candle, which together read as a chart flickering between the two. The project is careful with the condition the name refers to: this site does not flash on its reading pages, and its animated header stops when a device asks for reduced motion.

Where can I buy the πŸŸ₯🟩 token?

It trades on Solana decentralised exchanges through the πŸŸ₯🟩/SOL pool on Raydium, and is reachable from wallets such as Phantom by pasting the contract address. This is not a recommendation to buy: meme coins can lose most or all of their value.
